Discover Dallas – McKinney Trolley

The McKinney Trolley, or as its proper name McKinney Avenue Transit Authority (MATA), in Dallas Texas is a wonderful, old-fashioned, and FREE way to get around to the different areas of Dallas. Just don’t forget to give them a little tip before you get off. Rhyan is in love with Daniel Tiger and when she saw the trolley she was completely in love. It was even better after she heard the trolleys whistle the first time also. This is a method of transportation we WILL be using again in Downtown Dallas again, but it doesn’t just go through the Arts district or uptown, it make several stops along the way. Check out the map below of the McKinney Trolley to see all the stops they offer. [wp_ad_camp_2] The McKinney Trolley stops at so many places that we will be visiting over the next few weeks so make sure to check back on the blog to see what we have done during our Discover Dallas Series.

Discover Dallas | The Hidden Gem – Dragon Park

Welcome to the Discover Dallas series, where we share local finds around Dallas TX. Hidden away in a little corner of Oak Lawn in Dallas TX, you will find a fantasy themed park. In 2009 Mark Mahan built Dragon Park as an extension of Select Salon Dallas. If you are passing this park on the street, or even walking by, this park looks like an over grown garden guarded by two dragon sculptures.  But, once you walk inside you feel like you have stepped into another world. Inside of Dragon Park you will find a few sculptures of dragons, an angel, a fairy, lions, and gargoyles. The park is small and has a little parking lot to the rear of it with plenty of parking for the guest. It is a private park, but it is free to visit but as one of the signs says, it is at your own risk. With the way the parks gardens have grown, it is secluded and has a tranquil feel. Then again, the park is an extension of a salon, so that does make sense. [wp_ad_camp_2] Dragon Park Pictures Dragon Park also makes a great place for pictures with the many areas. I have also seen on the parks unofficial Facebook page where couples have tied the knot. While we were there we did take advantage of a few picture opportunities.
