Over the past month I noticed that the site wasn’t really working on mobile, it didn’t display how I wanted and it was hard to navigate to read new post and after a wonderful weekend working on a series of sponsored post, I knew that I had to make some changes! Off to learn a few new things about running a blog, coding, and running a wordpress website.
I want to share with you my new theme, new template, and my newest plugin that I found for editing Odysseys With Love! I will be going into more detail about the plugin in a later post, but I wanted to share a little bit about it here.
If you have a tip or an article for editing wordpress or great plugins I need to be installing on my sites, let me know down in the comments!

Finding A New Theme

My biggest thing I had to do was finding a new theme that had the aesthetic that I wanted for the site, especially since I was done completely doing an overhaul with elementor. That is when I found the Ashe Theme by WP Royal. I am going with the free theme for now, but their paid theme is most likely in my future.
I also tried to create a child theme and downloaded their child theme, but then I noticed that it was also creating errors on the site. I figured that I would need to find a different way to include my affiliate and sponsored post disclaimer.

My Template isn’t changing by Much

I’m not having to change my Elementor template by much other than what you see at the bottom of every post. I want to make sure everything is pleasing to the eye with the new theme so that means some changes into how I am doing things here. I do have to say that Elementor has a great youtube channel to teach you anything you need to know about Elementor.

A New Plugin?

Since I couldn’t get my child theme working right with my original way of displaying my Affiliate Disclaimers, I started to look for a different way to display it. That is when I found Brave Little Mom’s tutorial on displaying her affiliate disclaimer. It was perfect for what I wanted to do, and thanks to her post, I am able to activate and deactivate my ads on here also.
I am LOVING the AdRotate Plugin for this very reason! You need to go check out their products today! Thank you Brave Little Mom!
