I’ve posted a few things here in the past couple of days about the Tour of Mesquite when we partnered with the Mesquite Convention and Visitors Center, www.VisitMesquiteTx.com, but today, I am sharing EVERYTHING that we did during this tour! Are you ready? This is My Hometown! Mesquite Texas!
For those of you that have followed my journey here know that I have had a lot of personal things going on lately with my family, so when Mesquite Convention and Visitors Center offered to partner with us on a weekend getaway, I jumped at the opportunity to learn more about what my hometown has to offer. Last week I posted about City Lake Park, but that was not where my families weekend getaway started. We first checked into the Hampton Inn & Suites the night before.
City Lake Park in Mesquite Texas has a lot of memories for my family. Developed in 1947, this is one of Mesquite’s oldest parks, and most families are like mine and have memories like mine. On the Old Mesquite side of town, you will find this lake where you can fish, have picnics, and so much more.
Summer is in full swing and are you looking for fun parks in Mesquite Texas? If you’re anything like I am, you are looking for anything to keep your kids busy and happy this summer. So, I started to look up the different parks other than the closest one to my own home, and I found out that Mesquite Texas has over 60 parks in total!
This past weekend we went on a mini adventure. Well, James and I did. We ended up on a Date Night to Ollie’s Bargain Outlet that just had their grand opening a few days before. I wasn’t sure what we would find here, or if this would be a store that I would be returning to. Now that Ollie’s Bargain Outlet is Now Open in Mesquite TX, I can bring you a little sneak peek of what is in store for you when you adventure into this store that has taken over my childhood favorite, Toys R Us.
Every little city and town has their own Urban Legends, and Mesquite Texas is no different. Today, while going through my images I came across a file of images from an old website and blog I use to run that had the tour of Mesquite images from interesting locations. The images that interested me the most were the ones from Opal Lawrence Historical Park
A few months ago, I created a post about everything there is to do in our hometown of Mesquite Texas. I have not been able to recreate that post and I hate that it is no longer active. I sat down the other day and really started to think about everything there is to do in my little hometown and there is a LOT! Mesquite Texas is a historic town in the DFW area and is full of rich history
